Effective Solutions for Increasing Your Business Success With Flyers

Have you ever wondered how flyers can directly impact the success of your business? To say the least, they aren’t mentioned much in marketing strategies.

Flyers have been around for a very long time and are a traditional and somewhat modern method of promoting products and services. Many still to date ask if flyers are a good way of promoting their product and services in the modern digital age?

According to a study by John E Wright, it is mentioned that flyers are still an effective way of promoting even in this age. Additionally, many people still actually read them! It doesn’t matter if we live in the digital age, many traditional methods still work even nowadays.
To say the least, not every user around the world spends equal time on the internet, so why not reach out to your audience in both ways, right?

Well, to get straight to the point, in this article, we will be discussing how you can increase your business success with flyers.
Let’s dive right in!

How do flyers impact the success of your business?

Flyers can’t be ignored easily

According to a study by DMA, 9 out of 10 people were happy to receive flyers from businesses. Initially, they were most happy to receive them from retail businesses, then restaurants, and lastly, local services. Moreover, 45% of these people claimed that they keep these flyers somewhere in their homes.

According to a study, gen Z has an attention span of only eight seconds, while millennials who were just before them, have a longer attention span of 12 seconds. As you see the data, the attention span has gotten shorter over generations.

Attention shortage may be due to the fact that gen z users are exposed to promotional content too often and just can’t stress over everything they see. However, flyers have attractive colorful elements in them that make it attractive to read them. After all, it only takes a few seconds for someone to realize a high-quality image.

Methods on how you can increase your business success with flyers

Customizing your flyers is essential if you want them to be as effective as possible for the success of your business. You want to be unique and look different from the rest. Many people don’t have ideas on how they can customize their flyers.

You can learn more about how to create custom flyers by reading online articles from popular sites and even watching videos on how to do them. Or even better, you can ask your business partners to help you with it.
Determine your audience
Maybe you have already determined your audience, but when passing out flyers, it’s a different story. Here are some steps you should undergo before passing out flyers to your audience:

  • Identify what needs to be done for your business
  • Narrow down the market, location of your audience, cultural background, and more
  • Set up a buyer persona through demographic profiles
  • Finally, set up your flyer that you think will be the most appealing to your audience.

Use attractive fonts and colors
If you want to attract the right people with your flyers, then it’s essential you pay attention to the colors and fonts you use on your flyers and be sure of it. Colors matter a lot when it comes to attention spans.

You want to ensure your flyers are simple and have that catchy look in them. Additionally, keep fonts small and don’t overdo them on your flyers. They’ll do nothing but confuse people. However, only add more when they’re necessary to deliver an important message.

Show people what solution your flyer provides for them

Your potential customers will be more interested in reading your flyers when you state what kind of solution it provides for them. In short, before someone reads your flyer, they’ll see the ‘what’s in it for me’ part in your flyer. You don’t want to make your promotional content about yourself but focus on the customer.

Try using bullet points instead of long complex paragraphs and use more visual text instead of writing small long texts. Use influential words such as: you, free, save, discount, results, guarantee, and more creative ones you can think of.
Keep a simple style

Your message shouldn’t be the only simple thing to do when you are writing an ad on your flyer, but your design should succeed in this area too. Some rules you can follow with keeping your design simple are:

  • Making your copy easy to read
  • Short texts that are getting to the point
  • Align your points from most important to least
  • Use headings and body copy
  • Don’t use too many fonts

It’s easy to complicate things, so it’s essential you make your flyer effective when delivering the message. The easier it is to understand, the more people will understand and look into your message.
Use the right sizes

Above all, it’s important to determine the appropriate size for all flyers that you pass out. Flyers have different sizes and it’s sometimes difficult to distinguish them when you use them for the first time.

Flyer sizes firmly depend on the purpose they are going to be used. For example, if you want more information to be included, by this, we mean important information, not unnecessary ones, then, choose a larger size. Additionally, if less information is included, it’s best to go with smaller sizes.

Include a CTA

The main purpose of a flyer is to make people want to take action when being presented with one. If you want people to remember more about your business, you must include a call-to-action (CTA) somewhere in the flyer.
Your CTA should be visible in the flyer and seen from every angle of the flyer. Try to make your CTA stand out by using another font or color when writing it. Furthermore, make it easy to understand and short.

Offer a limited time offer
93% of shoppers use a coupon or discount code when they are buying something. That is a very high number and shows you how important it is to include a coupon or limited-time offer in your flyer.

Include this offer at the second half of your flyer and be sure to highlight it. To make it the best offer, include a limited-time offer with deadlines and limitations. Moreover, be sure to include the payment methods and how users can get this offer. This includes asking for users to fill out their addresses, names, surnames, residence country, card information, and more.

Proofread your flyer

Before you go out and start passing flyers around, ensure you proofread your flyer or have a specialist do it for you. Check if you included everything that you mentioned, the right information that leads to your business contact details, the correct URL to your site, and other important information.

Why should you use flyers?

Flyers are an effective way of promoting your business, even though many would claim otherwise because it’s a popular traditional marketing tactic. Here are a few reasons why you are making the right choice:

  • Affordable: flyers are cost-effective and can result many times in being better in promoting your brand’s message.
  • Excellent for events: flyers can be effective in promoting new upcoming events and are common for these cases. For example, you can pass them out at some party, event, or meetup.
  • Easy to measure: are super easy and simple to measure their success rate using leaflet numbers, URLs, QR codes, and more.
  • Great for new openings: if you have just started a business and want to get the word around quicker, then, this may be your chance to be passing out flyers to your local community. You might gain lots of customers that day!

Wrapping it up

Well, that’s all on effective solutions for increasing your business success with flyers. Hopefully, you already have many new ideas from the moment you read this conclusion. Remember, flyers are another way of making a good first impression on your potential new customers. You have to ensure it’s done right, because during the second time, you won’t get a good shot like the first.
We recommend you pay close attention to the design of your flyers, the size, find out who you will be passing them out to, what the costs may be, and what kind of results you expect to get after you pass them out. Remember to not make it complicated, nobody likes complicating visuals.

Last but not least, do what you can based on the number of financial resources you have. You want the outcome to be on your side and have a good return on investment (ROI). Since you have one chance to make a first impression, we recommend you put your focus to the maximum level before you pass out those promotional materials!
