Keeping Connected With Your Company While Working From Home

When working from home, it can be easy to fall into the trap of eating unhealthily and not leaving the house for a few days. However, there are several little tips and tricks that you can use to ensure that everyone in the business remains as connected as possible. To help you get started, we will be providing you with some of our tips and tricks to enable you to stay connected when working remotely.

Create Group Chats For Individual Teams

When in the office, you are often met with open lines of communication when at the water cooler or just passing each other’s desk. This can be missed when working from home and can make talking to the team throughout the day much harder than it would be in a physical office. However, by creating group chats on applications such as Microsoft Teams, you can open lines of communication between teams and ensure everyone is happy.

Encourage Video Calls Instead Of Email Communication

Too often when working remotely, we rely on emails in order to communicate. However, this may not be the most efficient form of communication as they can become lost in the inbox if others are in the inbox. Therefore, encouraging the use of video calls and messaging to ask questions or chase up a project can ensure there is an open line of communication across the business. Whether these are video calls on the computer or video calls or using one of the best business mobile phone providers that you have recently implemented into your business, this can improve communication in the long-term.

If you plan to work remotely, make sure that all of your audio equipment is in good working order to avoid inconveniences. For home offices, it's a good idea to spend money on high-end headsets, and hold meetings in a serene, well-lit setting. This allows you to maintain your professionalism even when you're at home.

Maintain Team Building Activities

Though it can be difficult to maintain team-building exercises when you cannot be in the same room as each other, you can still do some team building activities virtually. By holding these activities every week on a Friday, you can improve the relationship between teams in the business whilst welcoming in any new employees with an ice breaker game. This is a great way of ending the week by reducing stress and giving everyone a chance to unwind after a long week of completing tasks and attending meetings.

Weekly Relaxation To Aid In Mental Health

The final element that you can bring into the business to improve communication is a weekly relaxation session. Whether this is a workout on a lunch break or a meditation or yoga session, this is a great way of improving mental health for your employees and can bring everyone together to make your business stand out in the long-term. Though it can take time to get this implemented within your business, this can provide you with a way of bringing the team together and reducing the amount of stress that you have throughout the whole office.

With this in mind, there are several ways that you can go about keeping the team connected even when working remotely for the foreseeable future. Which of these will you be using?
