How Gaming and Social Media Have Become the New Marketplaces

Ecommerce is not a new phenomenon, but it is a phenomenon that is changing all the time and has the ability to change very quickly at that. One of the biggest ongoing changes that we should all be aware of, in relation to online marketplaces, either as buyers, sellers, or marketers, is the move towards using additional online platforms such as gaming and social media to not only market but to sell.

The leading online marketplaces

There are certainly established marketplaces such as Amazon, E-bay, Alibaba.com, and Google express, all of these are making a huge number of profits and dominate the retails and sales spaces for pretty much everything. However, the point to make is that unless your business is using one of these or something similar to sell online, you are losing out on the biggest form of trade that there currently is. Sales on such online marketplaces as noted herein account for nearly 2 trillion dollars globally and as such cannot be ignored if tour business has any designs on success. It is also one of the most innovative forms of ecommerce and can be implemented on almost all types of websites, apps, and online platforms.

Why gaming and social media are the massive nest marketplaces

The idea is to be where your clientele or customers are, and at the moment, in this day and age, this is online, but more specifically, it is on social media platforms, gaming chat rooms, and gaming platforms. This is where over 2.6 billion gamers spend their time, meet their friends, and socialize.

As gaming becomes more social and begun to sprout its own social media platforms, chats, and channels such as Reddit, Twitch, and Tik Tok and e-sports followings sim[ply exploded, it is clear that this is where you now need to be to build any form of meaningful brand.

Initially, you could buy specific game-related boosters, lives, and levels, but more recently, the game and any related sites, forums, and chats are about selling more than just game-related merchandise consoles and games. Companies have realized that people are able to shop and research products and services while they game. Even if it is just in the quiet moments between games or in the game, with the vast numbers that are involved, just a small percentage of these gamers spending some money in your shop is proving to be the big business.

It is thus pertinent for businesses to first understand the gaming world and secondly to find innovative means for advertising and provide seamless links to shopping opportunities on these platforms. The mainstay of such changes is lastly to ensure that you have the requisite professional IT support to maintain any such systems and processes.

Final remarks

There is no doubt that gaming and social media are the new massive online marketplaces in a global village that is getting ever smaller online. The gaming and social media market is massive and growing steadily, and as such, it is only those businesses that find a means of entry and can sustain this that will survive in this highly competitive age.
