A LETTER FROM RON WANEK ABOUT THE BOOK

As we usher in the next decade, the year 2020 highlights two major milestones for Ashley Furniture.
 
We will be celebrating Ashley’s 75th years in business.
I will personally mark this year as my 50th year of business with this great company.
 
Our goal in writing this book is to give retail salespeople, interior designers and consumers an understanding of what is involved in the manufacturing of furniture. We have also included a short history of important furniture developments, starting in the 16th century, that still influence the design of furniture today.
 
This book offers a source for design styles, trends, manufacturing techniques and a glossary of terms to provide a solid knowledge of the extensive processes and expertise behind the creation of the unique styles of furniture enjoyed in homes around the world today.
 
We implore our employees, Marketing Specialists and Retail Sales Associates to educate themselves in the down time between. The knowledge contained in this book will help us achieve our 10% 2020 growth in sales.
