4 Essential Tips to Create Social Media Graphics that Boost Engagement

4 Essential Tips to Create Social Media Graphics that Boost Engagement

When it comes to social media advertising, you need to make sure that you stick out from the pack.

Endless scrolling through feeds is common, so how do you make sure that you get noticed?

Making a great first impression visually is key to a successful social media marketing campaign

So, if you're looking to get your social media graphics on-point then read on and we'll show you how to make sure you get noticed

1. Always Tailor to Your Audience

Social media sites don't represent a true cross-section of the market.

A good working knowledge of the  differing demographics is essential. You'll want to tailor your graphic design around your audience after all

Selling products to other businesses? Hop on LinkedIn and use a professional, crisp design for your ads.

Hitting up Millennials? Then you may want to jazz things up a bit and use Instagram as your primary method of social sales

Do your market research, use the right platform, and make sure you tailor graphics to your platform

 2. Touch Up Your Photos

You don't have to spend a huge amount of money on software like Photoshop if you're a small business. It's a wise investment in the future but with a free  "online photo editor" you can handle the basics yourself.

Touch up all your photos, especially if you don't have a lightbox and a great camera in the first place.

This is doubly important for product photos. A good product photo can often sell a product all by itself

3. Avoid Stock Photography

Look, stock photos are quick and easy. We get it. You pay a couple of bucks and you'll have a professionally shot photograph to build your ad around.

But so does everyone else and savvy internet users are great at sniffing out stock photography. Those in the younger generations usually find them more comical than anything, which makes their use particularly dicey

If you really don't have the resources to take your own photos then consider using sites like Unsplash, instead of the usual suspects. The photographs there often receive less exposure and you don't risk spending money on the rights for a photo that completely tanks an ad campaign

4. Keep a Consistent Theme

Often, clicks only come after an ad has shown up in a user's feed a few times.

If you keep a consistent theme and a few rotating advertisements then your color scheme and typography should stay consistent. Keep them consistent across platforms as well for the best results.

A consistent theme will come to be associated with your brand over time and that association can pay off big time over the weeks or months of an advertising campaign.

Social Media Graphics Are Easy.

Social media graphics are pretty easy, especially given the shorter format of advertising allowed on most platforms.
Follow the above tips and you're well on the way.

So, do you think you're ready to start putting your own graphic design together?

We think so. Get to it!
