2 Things Your Business Must Do to Appeal to Generation Z

2020 brings with it a new decade, a new era, and a new generation of consumers. Slowly but surely, the Millennials are being fazed out and replaced by the new kids on the block, Generation Z. This group of young adults are currently finishing college and entering the world of work, which means that they are now taking control of the world’s buying power. What does this mean for you and your business? Quite simply, it means that you have to find a way to appeal to this generation if you want your company to reach new heights throughout the twenties.

To find two things you must do to ensure that your business appeals to Generation Z, be sure to read on.

Treat them as individuals

In their own words, Generation Z are ‘woke.’ With the latest bulletins and updates being available to them via the web at all times, they’ve grown up saturated in news. This means that they know more about the world than older generations probably give them credit for, which subsequently means that you’re going to find it difficult to pull the wool over their eyes. If you ever act in a dishonest or disloyal manner, this steadfast group of young adults will have no qualms in leaving your business behind and taking their custom elsewhere.

It is for this reason why you must go out of your way to showcase the fact that you value their custom, one way to do this being to treat them all as individuals. Don’t group certain members of this generation up just because they share the same demographics. Treat them all as unique entities and they’ll no doubt find it much easier to trust you. Fortunately, there are a number of pieces of CRM software that make it easy for businesses like yours to streamline customer relationships with individual consumers. To find out how this type of tech can be used to aid you in your bid to treat your Gen Z customers as individuals, be sure to check out Plego’s comparison of SugarCRM vs Salesforce.

Create a good online presence

Having grown up with technology at their fingertips, Generation Z are an incredibly tech-savvy bunch. More to the point, they are internet-savvy. They know nothing of a world in which the internet did not exist, which means that they understand the intricacies of the web better than their predecessors ever could.

How does this impact you in your bid to appeal to Generation Z? It impacts you because it means that you have to create a good online presence for yourself if you’re to prove your worth to this new generation of buyers. Your company website must be quick to load and easy to navigate, your social media pages must be updated with fresh and engaging content regularly, and you must rank highly in Google searches. Anything less, and Gen Z aren’t going to feel inclined to bring you their custom.

If you want your business to thrive throughout the twenties, you need to take the above advice and start appealing to Generation Z right away.
